Full route notes
One of India's longest domestic corridors at 1,750 km, this route offers a geology lesson in Indian landscapes. The aircraft flies almost directly south, crossing the Yamuna-Ganges flood plain, the rocky Vindhya Hills, the Narmada Valley, the Maharashtra Deccan, and finally descends into Bangalore through the Karnataka plateau. The Western Ghats mountain wall is visible to the right through most of the flight's southern half.
Delhi to Bangalore spans almost the full length of peninsular India, crossing the Indo-Gangetic Plain, the Vindhya-Satpura plateau belt, and the Deccan before reaching Karnataka.
Actual paths can shift by 10-30 km due to airline routing, wind, weather, or air traffic control.
Timing, weather, and airline variation
Morning
Morning flights heading south have the sun on the left (east), making the right side more comfortable. The Chambal ravines are well-lit in morning light and the Narmada valley looks spectacular.
Evening
Evening departures give you a glowing Western Ghats on the right in late afternoon sun — these mountains are particularly beautiful in golden hour.
Weather
The Deccan plateau is often clearer than coastal India. Western Ghats may have cloud caps but the plateau below is usually visible.
